Client Access Server Architecture in Exchange 2010 (part 3)
The Exchange Control Panel (ECP) is a completely new Web application. For end users, it provides a way to configure mail options, as shown in Figure 8. ECP is not only used seamlessly with OWA, but it is also used in Outlook 2010 when a user manages voicemail options.
Client Access Server Architecture in Exchange 2010 (part 2)
OWA has been renamed from Outlook Web Access in previous versions of Exchange. OWA allows users to access their mailboxes using a large number of Web browsers, including Internet Explorer 6.0+, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome.
Client Access Server Architecture in Exchange 2010 (part 1) - Client Access Server Architecture
You can already guess by looking at the name of this Exchange Server role that it enables a mailbox-enabled user to gain access to his or her mailbox using any of the supported Client Access protocols: MAPI/RPC, POP3, IMAP4, HTTP, and Exchange ActiveSync.
Exchange Server 2010 Mailbox Services Configuration (part 5) - Configuring Public Folders
Public folders have received a lot of attention for the last two releases of Exchange Server. The rumors of the removal of public folders in Exchange Server 2007 caused an uproar in the messaging community.
Exchange Server 2010 Mailbox Services Configuration (part 4) - Client Configuration
A variety of clients are able to connect to Exchange Server 2010. Other than receiving e-mail, the client's activity is the largest driving factor on how a mailbox server performs.
Exchange Server 2010 Mailbox Services Configuration (part 3)
The other way mailbox limits play into achieving an SLA and controlling the size of databases has to do with achieving expected backup and recovery times. To recover the data in a database within the agreed-upon SLA, the databases must be under a specific size.
Exchange Server 2010 Mailbox Services Configuration (part 2) - Database Maintenance
Much of the configuration that is done for the Mailbox server role is done during the hardware configuration and installation of the Mailbox role. After the Mailbox role is installed, creating and configuring databases usually completes most of what needs to be done.

Exchange Server 2007: Monitor Your Exchange Environment (part 4) - Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM 2005)
It is beyond the scope of this book to venture into the world of Microsoft Operations Manager 2005. It’s an event and performance management system that watches event logs and does proactive alerting and reporting. It looks at a baseline and can perform trend analysis.
Exchange Server 2007: Monitor Your Exchange Environment (part 3) - Performance Troubleshooter
In the Toolbox, directly beneath the Performance Monitor is a tool called the Performance Troubleshooter. This can be a monitoring tool or a troubleshooting tool, depending on what it is you are concerned about with your Exchange server.
Exchange Server 2007: Monitor Your Exchange Environment (part 2)
In both Server 2003 and Server 2008 (which includes the more advanced and complicated form of Event Viewer), there are Application logs. Because Exchange is considered an application, your informational or failure events are located here. This makes Event Viewer an essential part of your monitoring of Exchange.
Exchange Server 2007: Monitor Your Exchange Environment (part 1)
The Reliability and Performance Monitor (which is the new tool introduced to us in Windows Vista, used for performance monitoring in Server 2008) is still a fine tool for checking out our Exchange situation
Use the Exchange 2007 Toolbox to Troubleshoot
Keep in mind that many other tools exist beyond what we have in our Toolbox. Troubleshooting is not an easy task at times, and we need to reach for a different set of tools, such as Eseutil.exe, which is used for offline defragmentation and analysis of the database’s integrity.
